Nuvo vs Athlytic: daily biological-age iPhone app compared with Apple Watch Recovery, Exertion, and Athlytic Age training fitness

Choose Athlytic if you want Apple Watch training analytics — a morning Recovery score, Exertion / Target Exertion Zone, live workout tracking, and Athlytic Age (a fitness-age-style readout from Cardio Fitness and training markers). Choose Nuvo if you want a daily biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch from 21 biomarkers — HealthKit wearables plus optional lab PDF — with on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. They share an Apple Watch / HealthKit audience. They do different jobs. Athlytic optimizes training fitness. Nuvo tracks longevity / biological age with optional labs. Many Athlytic users still want that daily 21-biomarker number; they can stack.

Written by the Nuvo Longevity editorial team at Firefly Labs LLC, the developer of Nuvo. Athlytic details below are taken from Athlytic’s public homepage, getting-started and privacy pages, the Cardio Fitness help article, and the US App Store listing (id 1543571755, Athlytic: Fitness & Recovery), checked 21 September 2026. This page is educational and is not medical advice. Athlytic Age is not a clinical biological-age assay, and Nuvo’s daily score is not a substitute for a clinician.

What each product actually sells

Athlytic: Apple Watch fitness, recovery, and Athlytic Age

Athlytic (MyndArc, LLC) is an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch fitness and recovery app. The US listing is Athlytic: Fitness & Recovery (id 1543571755), subtitled “HRV Sleep & Training Coach.” The public job on the homepage (checked 21 September 2026) is daily training guidance from Apple Health: “know when to push, when to back off, and how hard to go.” The pitch is one morning number and one target all day — not a 21-biomarker biological age with optional blood labs.

What the homepage and getting-started pages actually sell:

  • Recovery — a daily 0–100% score from overnight HRV and resting heart rate versus a personal 60-day baseline. Set once each morning.
  • Exertion — cardiovascular load on a 0–10 scale as heart rate stays above a personalized threshold, plus a Target Exertion Zone matched to today’s Recovery.
  • Sleep — Quality, Debt, and Consistency (REM / deep, awake time, interruptions, respiratory rate, heart-rate dip).
  • Journal + Impact Analysis, 24/7 health monitoring (HRV, resting HR, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, wrist temperature), live Apple Watch workout tracking (heart-rate zones, Effort, aerobic vs anaerobic), cycle-aware training, Battery (all-day readiness), and stress.
  • Athlytic Age — listed on the homepage next to Journal, monitoring, workouts, and cycle-aware training. App Store version notes (26.5.x) describe per-marker scales, a highlighted “biggest lever,” and Zone 2 / Zone 4+ minutes. That is Athlytic’s fitness-age-style readout. Public pages do not call it Nuvo’s 21-biomarker daily biological age.

Cardio Fitness (estimated VO2 max) in Athlytic uses heart-rate proxies (HRmax and HRrest on that help article, last updated 31 March 2025). Athlytic estimates it for all workout types; Apple’s own Cardio Fitness is limited to running, walking, and hiking on that page. Athlytic Age can use Cardio Fitness with an intensity filter so easy walks do not dominate — that is training fitness, not a lab clock.

US App Store in-app purchases on 21 September 2026: Athlytic Pro (Monthly) $4.99 and Athlytic Pro (Yearly) $29.99. The listing states subscribers receive 1 week free. The app is Free to download. Compatibility printed on the listing: iOS 17.0+, iPadOS 17.0+, watchOS 10.6+. Most Recovery / HRV / resting-HR features need an Apple Watch. Athlytic’s homepage: two-person independent company; algorithms since 2017 (HockeyTracker) and Athlytic since 2021. 2025 awards listed on that page: MacStories Best Watch App, App of the Year Runner-Up, Upgradies Best Newcomer.

Privacy is a fair similarity, not a smear. The homepage: Athlytic “has never collected, stored, or sold your personal information,” processing on device through Apple Health, with the App Store label quoted as “Data Not Collected.” The privacy policy (last updated 27 August 2021) repeats that Athlytic does not collect or store data because it reads Apple Health on device. Homepage also: no accounts, no tracking. We cite those pages; we do not invent a cloud-account Athlytic does not claim.

Athlytic is not a daily 21-biomarker longevity score, does not ingest optional conventional lab PDFs into that score, and does not sell a mailed kit. If the job is “train smarter on the Apple Watch you already wear,” that is Athlytic.

Nuvo: a daily 21-biomarker score

Nuvo Longevity (App Store: Nuvo: Longevity Coach, id 6762535065) is an iPhone and Apple Watch app. It calculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers: Apple Health / HealthKit data from Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin, plus optional lab PDF upload so conventional results you already paid for (HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine, and more) sit in the same score.

Coaching runs as on-device private AI (Nuvo Intelligence). There is no account. Apple’s privacy nutrition label for Nuvo is Data Not Collected. Health data stays on the phone, is not sent to Nuvo servers, and is not sold. Price is $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day trial — $24.99/year is $2.08/month billed annually. Nuvo is not Android, does not log live HR-zone workouts the way Athlytic does, and does not replace Athlytic’s Target Exertion Zone.

Nuvo is not Recovery / Exertion / Athlytic Age. If the job is “one daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, including optional labs, privately, on the phone you already carry,” that is Nuvo. Comparison table

Athlytic Nuvo Longevity
Job to be done Apple Watch training fitness: morning Recovery, Exertion / Target Zone, live workouts, sleep, journal, cycle-aware coaching, and Athlytic Age (fitness-age-style readout). One daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on the iPhone and Apple Watch you already own, with optional labs you already paid for.
Metrics / daily score Recovery (0–100%), Exertion (0–10), Sleep Quality / Debt / Consistency, Battery, stress, Cardio Fitness (estimated VO2 max), Athlytic Age from training markers (Zone 2 / Zone 4+ minutes called out in App Store notes). Not Nuvo’s 21-biomarker biological age. Yes. Recalculated daily from 21 biomarkers so sleep, HRV, training, and optional labs can sit in one number.
Labs Not a blood-lab membership or lab PDF biological-age clock on public pages. Cardio Fitness and Athlytic Age are wearable / training estimates. Optional lab PDF into the same daily 21-biomarker score (HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine, and more). Not a lab membership. Does not schedule draws.
Privacy / account No Athlytic account. Homepage and privacy policy: on-device via Apple Health; never collected, stored, or sold; App Store label quoted as Data Not Collected. Subscriptions bill through Apple. No account. On-device private AI (Nuvo Intelligence). Apple privacy label: Data Not Collected. Data stays on the phone, is not sent to Nuvo servers, and is not sold. Best for People who want to train off Apple Watch Recovery and Exertion — and will pay Pro for the full coach, including Athlytic Age as a fitness-age-style metric. People who want one daily 21-biomarker biological age on the iPhone they already own, optional labs they already paid for, no account, at $24.99/year.
App Store ratings US iTunes lookup on 21 September 2026: 4.79 from 10,989 ratings for “Athlytic: Fitness & Recovery.” Homepage prints 4.8 and “over 10,000 ratings.” Cite the listing; we do not publish a schema.org rating object on this page. Honestly thin: 5.0 from 4 US ratings (iTunes lookup, 15 September 2026). Do not treat that as a large review corpus.

What each “age” actually measures

People searching “Fitness Age” on Apple Watch usually want a number that says whether training made the body fitter than chronological age. Athlytic’s public name for that job is Athlytic Age, not a separate product called Fitness Age. It sits next to Recovery, Exertion, Cardio Fitness, and zone minutes. Athlytic’s Cardio Fitness help article is explicit that the VO2 figure is an estimate from heart rate, not a mask-on CPET. App Store notes mention marker scales and Zone 2 / Zone 4+ minutes inside Athlytic Age. That is a training-fitness composite.

Nuvo’s 21 biomarkers are wearable plus optional conventional labs — HRV, sleep, fitness, and chemistry such as HbA1c or CRP — recalculated daily on device. A morning Recovery percentage and a Nuvo biological age of the same calendar day are not interchangeable. Athlytic Age going “younger” after a block of Zone 2 is not the same event as HbA1c or CRP moving inside Nuvo’s score.

Nuvo does not implement Athlytic Age, Target Exertion, or Athlytic’s Cardio Fitness formula as named clocks. Athlytic does not implement Nuvo’s 21-biomarker daily biological age.

Can they stack?

Yes — that is the honest adjacent-jobs answer. Use Athlytic for Recovery, Exertion, live Watch workouts, and Athlytic Age. Use Nuvo for the daily 21-biomarker trend on HealthKit plus any conventional lab PDF you already have. Both read Apple Health. Nuvo can take Garmin or Oura through HealthKit as well; Athlytic’s getting-started copy is Apple Watch heart-rate, HRV, and sleep first. A lab PDF can sit in Nuvo’s score. It does not become Athlytic Age.

If you only want the training coach, stop at Athlytic. If you only want the daily biological age, stop at Nuvo. If you already pay for Athlytic Pro and still want to see whether sleep, training, or labs showed up in a daily longevity number, stack them.

Privacy

On privacy architecture, these two are closer than Nuvo vs a lab membership. Athlytic’s homepage and privacy policy describe on-device Apple Health processing, no Athlytic account, and Data Not Collected. Nuvo is also no account, on-device Nuvo Intelligence, Data Not Collected, data not sent to Nuvo servers, not sold. Subscriptions for both bill through Apple. If the only constraint is “no third-party health cloud,” either product’s public privacy story can fit. The remaining question is the job: training metrics versus a 21-biomarker biological age that can include labs. Architecture notes: health app privacy and on-device AI.

Where Athlytic wins

Athlytic wins if the job is Apple Watch training load and recovery. Recovery, Exertion, Target Exertion Zone, live zone charts, Effort, Heart Rate Recovery, Training Load, cycle-aware coaching, and Athlytic Age are the product. Nuvo does not claim to beat Athlytic at in-workout Watch UI, Target Exertion, or a 10,000-rating fitness corpus. If that is the product you came to buy, buy Athlytic.

Athlytic also wins on review volume. iTunes lookup on 21 September 2026: 4.79 from 10,989 US ratings. Nuvo’s App Store presence is early: 4 ratings. We are not going to inflate four ratings into social proof, and we do not publish a schema.org rating object for Nuvo.

Where Nuvo wins

Nuvo wins on the daily biological-age job. Athlytic’s headline scores are Recovery, Exertion, Sleep, and Athlytic Age from training / Cardio Fitness markers. Those update with wear and workouts. They do not fuse optional HbA1c, CRP, or HDL into Nuvo’s 21-biomarker clock. Nuvo recalculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers so sleep, HRV, training, and optional labs can sit in one number.

Nuvo wins on optional labs in the same score. Athlytic is HealthKit-first. Public pages do not sell a lab-PDF biological age. If you already paid for a conventional panel, Nuvo is the one that can put that PDF next to wearable data.

Price is close, not a knockout. Athlytic Pro is $29.99/year (or $4.99/month) after one week free. Nuvo is $24.99/year (or $4.99/month) after a 7-day trial. Five dollars a year is not a category difference. The category difference is training coach versus longevity score. Garmin / Oura via HealthKit is a Nuvo path Athlytic’s getting-started page does not lead with.

Who wins for which user

Buy Athlytic if you want Apple Watch Recovery, Exertion, workout analytics, and Athlytic Age as a fitness-age-style metric. Buy Nuvo if you want a daily 21-biomarker biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch, privately, at $24.99/year, with optional labs. Buy both if you already train with Athlytic and still want a daily age number from HealthKit plus any conventional lab PDF you have. They do not cancel each other; one is a training coach, the other is a daily age readout.

If the only job is “Fitness Age / Athlytic Age on Apple Watch training data,” stop at Athlytic. If the only job is “daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, privately, on iPhone,” stop at Nuvo. Download app.

Habits that actually move aging markers — sleep, aerobic fitness, glucose, inflammation — are covered in How to reduce biological age. This page is only about which product to buy for which job. For WHOOP’s strain/recovery band rather than an Apple Watch app, see Nuvo vs WHOOP. For SuperAge’s Watch bio-age app, see SuperAge vs Nuvo.

Pricing math without invented discounts

Athlytic US App Store prices we verified (21 September 2026) on Athlytic: Fitness & Recovery: Pro $4.99/month or $29.99/year, 1 week free for subscribers, Family Sharing noted on that listing. The download is Free. Tax and intro offers can differ by Apple ID — cite checkout.

Nuvo: $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. No mailed sample is bundled.

Those dollars buy different things. Say so. Comparing $29.99/year Athlytic Pro to $24.99/year Nuvo as if they bought the same object is a category error. Many high-intent Apple Watch shoppers already spend the training-app money; the remaining question is whether they also want a daily 21-biomarker biological age. That is the Nuvo add, not a rip-and-replace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I pick Nuvo or Athlytic?
Pick Athlytic if you want Apple Watch Recovery, Exertion, live workout tracking, and Athlytic Age (a fitness-age-style readout from Cardio Fitness and training markers) at $29.99/year Pro after one week free. Pick Nuvo if you want a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on iPhone and Apple Watch, optional conventional lab PDF in that same score, on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. If you already use Athlytic, you can stack: Athlytic for training, Nuvo for the daily 21-biomarker trend.

Is Athlytic a biological age app?
Not in Nuvo’s sense. Athlytic is an Apple Watch fitness and recovery coach (Recovery, Exertion, sleep, workouts). It does offer Athlytic Age, a fitness-age-style metric from training and Cardio Fitness markers. That is not a 21-biomarker daily biological age with optional blood labs.

What is Athlytic Age versus Apple Watch Fitness Age?
Athlytic Age is the name on Athlytic’s homepage and App Store notes. “Fitness Age” is the adjacent search — people wanting a Watch number for how fit they are versus chronological age. Athlytic Age uses training markers (App Store notes call out Zone 2 / Zone 4+ minutes and per-marker scales) and Cardio Fitness (estimated VO2 max). It is not Nuvo’s daily 21-biomarker biological age.

Can I use Nuvo with Athlytic?
Yes. They are complementary. Athlytic is the training coach on Apple Watch / HealthKit. Nuvo is the daily 21-biomarker readout on HealthKit plus optional lab PDFs. Nuvo does not ingest Athlytic Age as a named input. A standard lab PDF can go into Nuvo’s score. You do not have to pick only one product.

How much do Athlytic and Nuvo cost?
Athlytic Pro is $4.99/month or $29.99/year on the US App Store listing we checked 21 September 2026, with 1 week free for subscribers. Nuvo is $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. Similar dollars; different jobs.

Does Athlytic include blood labs?
Not as a biological-age lab kit or lab-PDF clock on Athlytic’s public homepage, getting-started, or App Store listing. Cardio Fitness and Athlytic Age are wearable / training estimates. Nuvo can take optional conventional lab PDFs into the same 21-biomarker score.

Does Nuvo require an account?
No. Nuvo uses on-device private AI and no account. Apple’s privacy label is Data Not Collected; data stays on the phone. Athlytic also markets no account and Data Not Collected (homepage and privacy policy). Privacy is a similarity. The product difference is 21 longevity biomarkers (HealthKit plus optional labs) versus Athlytic’s Recovery / Exertion / Athlytic Age training stack.

Is this medical advice?
No. This comparison is educational. Neither Athlytic nor Nuvo replaces care, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed clinician. Recovery scores, estimated VO2 max, Athlytic Age, wearable biological age, and lab results should be reviewed with a qualified professional.
