Nuvo vs Hims Labs: Daily Biological Age or a Twice-Yearly Blood Age?
Hims Labs biological age is a Quest snapshot once or twice a year. Nuvo is a daily on-device Hims Labs alternative on iPhone, $24.99/yr.
Written by the Nuvo Longevity editorial team at Firefly Labs LLC.
Labs by Hims (often searched as Hims Labs) gives you a biological age snapshot from a Quest Diagnostics blood draw: once a year on the launch Base plan, or up to twice a year on the current Advanced plan, inside a Hims & Hers account that can also prescribe if you are eligible. Nuvo is the Hims Labs alternative for a different job: a daily biological age on the iPhone and Apple Watch you already own, from 21 biomarkers, computed on the phone, with no account. Use Hims when you want the panel and a clinician. Use Nuvo when you want a morning score. Many people can use both.
Written by the Nuvo Longevity editorial team at Firefly Labs LLC, the developer of Nuvo. Hims & Hers facts are from the 13 November 2025 investor release, newsroom post, and Newsweek report, plus Labs pages on hims.com and forhers.com and the Hims privacy policy, checked 20 October 2026. Where pages disagree, we quote them. This is not medical advice. Nuvo is not a medical device and does not diagnose.
What each product actually sells
Labs by Hims: a Quest draw, an action plan, and a blood-panel age
On 13 November 2025 the investor press release listed two plans. Base was one yearly draw, 50 biomarker tests across 9 categories, at $199 a year. Advanced was two yearly draws, over 120 biomarker tests across 10 categories, at $499 a year. Both included doctor-developed action plans and treatment if a provider agreed. The release required eligibility and a provider order, said Labs was not in all 50 states, and said results alone do not diagnose, treat, or cure. Critical results get a provider call, and plans include 24/7 messaging. The newsroom post put biological age on the Insights screen with the action plan. Newsweek the same day repeated the prices, said results typically take about two weeks, and described about 2.5 million subscribers. That subscriber line is Newsweek’s, from launch week.
On 20 October 2026 the advertised Advanced price is lower. The biomarkers page and the Hers biomarkers page show $499 struck through next to $349 per year, for up to 130 tests (Hers says 130+), twice a year. How it works says $349/year upfront and “test up to 2x per year.” The landing page lists 130+ tests a year versus about 25 for routine labs, a retest every 6 months, and Biological Age insights. Those pages do not restate Base at $199.
Marker counts still do not match. The FAQ says the first draw is 75+ biomarkers, the 6-month follow-up retests 55+, and the panel includes 130+ tests (heart, hormones, metabolism, inflammation, stress, and more). How it works says the mid-year recheck is 45+. The launch release said “over 120,” not 130+. We quote each page.
You book an in-person draw at one of about 2,000 Quest sites, fast 8 hours, and do not need a video visit. The how-it-works title says “At-Home Testing Made Simple”; the steps say Quest. The FAQ limits Labs to adults 18+ if eligible, in 49 states and DC, not Hawaii. Insurance is not required. FSA/HSA is not accepted. A Galleri multi-cancer add-on on the landing page is separate from biological age and from the $349 figure.
Nuvo: a daily 21-biomarker score
Nuvo Longevity (App Store: Nuvo: Longevity Coach, id 6762535065) is an iPhone and Apple Watch app. It calculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers in Apple Health / HealthKit — Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin — plus optional lab results you already paid for. The positioning line is: your biological age, calculated daily, on your phone, with your data.
Coaching is on-device AI (Nuvo Intelligence). Health data stays on the phone. There is no account. Apple’s privacy label for Nuvo is Data Not Collected. Price is $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day free trial, which is $2.08/month billed annually. Nuvo does not order Quest, does not prescribe, and is not a medical device. Comparison table
| Labs by Hims | Nuvo Longevity | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Launch: Base $199/year (1 draw), Advanced $499/year (2 draws). On 20 Oct 2026 the biomarkers page shows $499 struck beside $349/year. Insurance not required. FAQ: no FSA/HSA for Labs. | $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day trial ($2.08/month annually). No draw is bundled. See Nuvo pricing. |
| How biological age is measured | Blood-panel estimate across heart, hormones, inflammation, and stress. Biomarkers page label: “21 factors.” Informational, not diagnostic, formula not published. | Daily, on device, from 21 biomarkers: HealthKit wearables plus optional labs you enter. Not the same list as Hims’ “21 factors” label. |
| Frequency | Base at launch: once a year. Current Advanced and FAQ: two draws a year, about six months apart, so the age can update up to twice a year. | Recalculated daily. |
| Biomarkers | Launch: 50 (Base) or over 120 (Advanced). Now: 130+ on the panel; first draw 75+; follow-up 55+ (FAQ) or 45+ (how it works). | 21 longevity biomarkers. Optional inputs include labs you already have, such as HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, and creatinine. See HbA1c and biological age. |
| Hardware | In-person draw at a Quest site (about 2,000 locations in the FAQ). Results in the Hims or Hers app. No wearable required for the age. | iPhone and Apple Watch you already own. Garmin and Oura via Apple Health. No new lab hardware. |
| Account and data handling | Hims & Hers account. Privacy policy (17 September 2026) covers registration, payment, health data, and automatic app collection. Not on-device-only. | No account. On-device AI. Apple label: Data Not Collected. Health data is not sent to Nuvo servers and is not sold. See on-device AI and privacy. |
| Prescriptions and clinician access | Provider order. Action plan with lifestyle guidance and, if eligible, medication. Critical-result outreach and 24/7 messaging. No video visit required for Labs. | None. Nuvo does not prescribe and does not message a Hims clinician. |
| Availability | FAQ: 49 states and DC; not Hawaii. Age 18+ if eligible. Provider order required. | iPhone and Apple Watch app. Not Android. No state lab-license limit, because Nuvo does not order the draw. |
What each biological age actually measures
A biological age is not your birthday, and two products that both print the phrase are not running the same test.
Labs by Hims builds the number from blood. The FAQ calls it an estimate across heart health, hormones, inflammation, and stress, using biomarkers associated with the body at various ages. You see it again when you retest. Hims says it is an approximation, not a diagnostic tool, and it does not determine treatment eligibility. The biomarkers page puts “21 factors” under that heading and does not list the factors or the equation. We will not assign a model name those pages do not use.
That label is Hims’ blood-panel age. Nuvo’s 21 biomarkers are a different set: HealthKit wearables plus optional conventional labs, recalculated daily. A Hims biological age moves when a new panel comes back — up to twice a year on the current Advanced description. Neither number is a reason to start or stop a medication on your own.
When to choose Labs by Hims
Choose Labs by Hims if you want the panel, a clinician who can order it, and a plan that can include a prescription when you are eligible. Lipids, glucose, hormones, inflammation, and nutrients are the product. Biological age is one block on that report. Hims is also the better fit if you do not own an iPhone. Nuvo cannot book Quest, write the action plan, or prescribe. Buy Labs for that job, subject to eligibility, a provider order, and the state list (not Hawaii on the FAQ we checked).
When to choose Nuvo
Choose Nuvo if you want a biological age every day on hardware you already wear, without a care account. $24.99/year buys the score and the on-device coach, not a 130-test panel. That is a Hims Labs alternative for the daily-age job, and a weak substitute for the blood draw. It is also the fit when you will not put a lab order on a telehealth account: no account, on-device processing, Data Not Collected.
How to use both together
Stack them when you want both. Labs by Hims, if a provider approves the order, is the chemistry and the clinical plan on the FAQ’s six-month cadence. Nuvo is the daily 21-biomarker trend between draws. Standard values on a Quest or Hims report — HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine — can be entered in Nuvo as optional lab input. Nuvo does not import the Hims Biological Age number, the action plan, or a prescription. If you only want the care platform, stop at Hims. If you only want the daily score, stop at Nuvo. For a longevity pharmacy that is not this membership, see Nuvo vs AgelessRx.
Price, privacy, and where each one runs
Launch release: Base $199/year, Advanced $499/year. On 20 October 2026 the biomarkers page prints $499 beside $349, and how-it-works says $349/year upfront. We did not check out, so tax and whether Base is still on the form can differ. Nuvo is $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day free trial. One price buys a panel and a clinical account. The other buys a daily score.
Labs is not in Hawaii on the current FAQ, needs a provider order, and is for adults 18 and older if eligible. The privacy policy covers account data, health information, and automatic collection in the app. Nuvo does not offer the lab and does not collect an account, including if you are waiting on Hawaii. You still need a local clinician for blood work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I pick Nuvo or Labs by Hims?
Pick Labs by Hims for a Quest panel, a doctor-developed action plan, and a biological age that updates on the next draw (once a year on launch Base, up to twice a year on current Advanced), plus a prescription if you are eligible. Pick Nuvo for a daily 21-biomarker biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch, optional labs, on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. Use both if you want the panel and the daily score.
Is Hims Labs biological age a daily score?
No. It is tied to the blood draw. Launch Base was one draw a year. Current Advanced pages and the FAQ describe two draws a year, and how-it-works says you can test up to twice a year. That is a snapshot. Nuvo recalculates daily.
What does the Hims Labs biological age measure?
An estimate of aging from blood biomarkers across heart health, hormones, inflammation, and stress. The biomarkers page labels it “21 factors” and says it is informational, not diagnostic, and does not determine treatment eligibility. The formula is not published on the pages we checked. Those factors are not Nuvo’s 21 biomarkers.
Can I use Nuvo with Hims Labs or Quest results?
Yes. Keep Labs for the draw, the action plan, and any prescription. Enter standard Quest or Hims values (HbA1c, glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine) into Nuvo’s daily score. Nuvo does not import the Hims Biological Age number.
How much do Labs by Hims and Nuvo cost?
Launch prices were Base $199/year and Advanced $499/year. On 20 October 2026 the biomarkers page showed $499 struck beside $349/year, and how-it-works said $349/year upfront. Nuvo is $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. Confirm Hims at checkout. Insurance is not required; FSA/HSA is not accepted for Labs.
Does Nuvo require an account, and does it prescribe?
No account and no prescriptions. On-device AI, Apple label Data Not Collected. Labs by Hims needs an account and a provider order, and is not sold in Hawaii. Nuvo is not a medical device and does not diagnose.
Is this medical advice?
No. This comparison is educational and is not medical advice. Nuvo is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Hims says lab results alone are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and that its Biological Age calculation should not be used as a diagnostic tool.
