Nuvo vs Prenuvo: a daily biological-age score on iPhone compared with a one-time whole-body MRI snapshot

Use Prenuvo if you want a clinic MRI that looks for structural findings — organs, spine, and, on the Whole Body Scan, aneurysms — once, or once a year on a membership. Use Nuvo if you want a daily biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch from 21 biomarkers, so you can see whether sleep, training, and optional labs are moving the number. The names sit close together. Prenuvo is imaging and early detection. Nuvo is a daily, private score you can run alongside a scan.

Written by the Nuvo Longevity editorial team at Firefly Labs LLC, the developer of Nuvo. Prenuvo figures are from Prenuvo’s what-we-offer page, scan page, FAQ (including the follow-up answers), locations, and terms, plus the American College of Radiology statement of 17 April 2023, checked 5 October 2026. Where Prenuvo’s pages disagree, we quote them and do not invent a checkout total. This page is educational and is not medical advice.

What each product actually sells

Prenuvo: a whole-body MRI snapshot

Prenuvo sells proactive MRI at its clinics, with blood panels bundled into memberships. You book, travel, lie in the scanner, and later read a radiologist’s report in the Prenuvo app. The scan page says a nurse practitioner walks through the results. This is a medical imaging service, not a morning score.

Standalone prices on the what-we-offer page that day: Whole Body Scan, about 60 minutes, $2,499 USD ($2,999 CAD), covering major organs, brain, and spine, with arms and feet excluded; Focused Scan, about 30 minutes, $1,199 USD ($1,499 CAD), head to mid-thigh, without arms, spine, or aneurysm assessment. Prenuvo calls the shorter scan an adjunct to standard single-cancer screening, not a replacement. Add-ons, which cannot be stacked on a Focused Scan: Brain Health about 15–25 minutes at $799, Body Composition about 15 minutes at $499, Heart Health about 20–30 minutes at $799. Prenuvo says the heart add-on does not diagnose heart disease or blocked arteries.

Memberships are annual and cancelable. Core is the Focused Scan plus a basic blood panel and one review, with no six-month labs and no imaging add-ons: the card says about 45 minutes and $1,199 (from $1,329). The standalone Focused line on the same page says about 30 minutes. We will not merge those into one duration. Comprehensive is the Whole Body Scan, a broader panel, a review, and repeat labs at six months: about 60 minutes, $2,499 (from $3,099). Executive adds body composition, advanced brain, advanced heart where offered, the largest panel, and a six-month lab repeat. The card says about 75 minutes, “starting at $3,999” against a $5,897 list. Footnote 1 prices the Executive Scan at $4,999 in New York City, $4,499 in other named cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and Seattle, and $3,999 where Advanced Heart Health is not yet available. A savings answer on that page puts NYC Executive at $4,499. Confirm checkout. Labs are U.S.-clinic only and cannot be bought without a scan. Clinics on the locations page span the United States, Canada, the U.K., and Australia, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Seattle, Vancouver, London, and Melbourne.

Nuvo: a daily 21-biomarker score

Nuvo Longevity (Nuvo: Longevity Coach, App Store id 6762535065) is an iPhone and Apple Watch app. It calculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers: Apple Health / HealthKit from Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin, plus optional lab or blood-test results (HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine, and more) in the same score. Coaching is on-device AI (Nuvo Intelligence). There is no account. Apple’s privacy label is Data Not Collected. Data stays on the phone. Price is $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day free trial — $24.99/year is $2.08/month billed annually. Nuvo does not sell an MRI or a radiologist report. Download app. For other age apps, see the 2026 biological age app comparison. For blood panels rather than imaging, see Nuvo vs Function Health and Nuvo vs SiPhox Health.

Comparison table

Prenuvo Nuvo Longevity
What it measures Structural MRI. Whole Body looks from the head toward the ankles (arms and feet excluded), including aneurysms. Focused is head to mid-thigh and drops aneurysms. Optional brain, heart-muscle, and body-composition add-ons, plus blood panels on memberships. Not a daily biological age. A daily biological age from 21 biomarkers: HealthKit plus optional labs. Not an MRI and not a cancer screen.
Frequency One scan, or a membership with MRI once a year and up to two blood panels. Prenuvo’s FAQ recommends follow-up in 12 months for most moderate findings, and 12–24 months under age 40 with no or low-risk findings. Recalculated daily from sleep, HRV, training, and optional labs.
Cost U.S. standalone: Focused $1,199, Whole Body $2,499. Memberships: Core $1,199, Comprehensive $2,499, Executive from $3,999, with $4,499 and $4,999 also printed. Add-ons $499–$799. Cash-pay. $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day free trial. $24.99/year is $2.08/month billed annually.
Time commitment Clinic trip, 4-hour fast, then about 30, 60, or 75 minutes in the bore depending on the product. The FAQ says up to 75 minutes. Then you wait for the report. Open the app. No fasting and no appointment.
Where data lives / privacy A clinic record and the Prenuvo app. The FAQ says identifiable data is limited to staff with a reason, and access is logged. Terms describe a cash-pay medical service. No account. On-device AI. Apple label: Data Not Collected. Data stays on the phone. See on-device AI and privacy.
What you do with the result Read the radiologist’s report with a Prenuvo provider and your own physician. Follow-up can mean more imaging or a biopsy. A normal scan does not show whether last month’s sleep changed anything. Watch whether the daily biological age moves as habits change. The score does not find a tumor.
Who it’s for Adults 18+ who want a structural baseline, will travel to a clinic, and accept incidental findings. Prenuvo says no evidence-based guideline tells the general population to start. People who want a daily 21-biomarker biological age on the iPhone they own, optional labs they already have, no account, at $24.99/year.

How Prenuvo works

You complete an intake and go to a clinic. The scan is MRI: no ionizing radiation, and the FAQ says screening scans use no IV contrast. Prenuvo lists a 550-pound table limit, a 70 cm bore, no pacemakers, no screening MRI in pregnancy, and an 18+ age floor. Ankles may fall outside the image above 5'9" (175 cm). A board-certified radiologist reads the study. Several MRI weightings, including diffusion, help separate a benign lesion from one that needs another look. It is still one exam until you book the next.

Prenuvo’s footnote says the whole-body MRI does not replace colonoscopy, mammography, Pap smear, lung CT screening, or a skin exam. Lesions are generally identifiable around one centimeter, varying by region, and polyps plus many mouth, throat, and gut lining lesions can be missed. The standard screen does not evaluate the heart, heart vessels, fine lung structure, or smaller brain vessels. The Focused Scan also skips aneurysms.

How Nuvo works

Nuvo reads Apple HealthKit. An Apple Watch is the usual source; Oura and Garmin can feed the same database. Each day it computes a biological age from 21 biomarkers. A blood panel you already paid for — a clinician, a lab membership, or a Prenuvo draw — can be added as a PDF, so HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, and creatinine join the wearable inputs. Nuvo will not report a cyst, a mass, or an aneurysm. It reports whether recovery, fitness, sleep, and those labs look younger or older than your calendar age, and it updates when the inputs move. See biological age vs chronological age.

Pros and cons

Prenuvo’s advantage is the picture. A Whole Body Scan is anatomy a watch cannot see. If you want that snapshot and you will take the report to a physician, Prenuvo is the product built for it. The price is a clinic bill — $1,199 to $2,499 for the standalone U.S. scans, more for Executive — plus travel, a fast, and time in the bore. Prenuvo’s FAQ also says there is no evidence-based guideline specifically recommending whole-body MRI for the general population, and that indeterminate findings and false positives are part of screening.

Nuvo’s advantage is the daily loop, the price, and the privacy. $24.99/year is not a discount on a Prenuvo scan. It is a different product you can open every day with no account. Nuvo cannot clear you of cancer, and a younger score is not a clean bill of health.

The American College of Radiology, on 17 April 2023, said it does not believe there is sufficient evidence to recommend total-body screening for people with no symptoms, risk factors, or a family history suggesting disease or serious injury. It said there is no documented evidence the exam is cost-efficient or effective at prolonging life, and that non-specific findings lead to extra tests, procedures, and expense. Prenuvo’s FAQ cites its POLARIS study as a 99.8% negative predictive value in a screening population. That is Prenuvo’s number, about a negative scan. It is not proof the scan lengthens life.

Outside reviews describe the same trade. Zugni and colleagues (Cancer Imaging, 2020) pooled whole-body MRI studies in asymptomatic people: of 17,961 abnormal findings, 91% were benign, 9% needed more cancer-related investigation, and 0.5% of lesions were suspicious for cancer. A 2026 Radiology Advances paper summarizes that literature as cancer detection in about 1–2% of asymptomatic people and incidental findings in up to 97%, and it repeats the ACR caution. That literature is about the exam as a class, not a Prenuvo-only audit.

Who should choose which

Choose Prenuvo if you want a structural baseline, you can reach a clinic, and you have decided — ideally with your clinician — that you want the imaging despite the ACR’s position. A family history or a specific worry belongs in that conversation. So does a simple wish for the elective snapshot, as long as you will tolerate incidental findings. Do not drop colonoscopy, mammography, or any screening your clinician already recommended. Prenuvo says the scan does not replace those tests.

Choose Nuvo if the question is whether habits are moving a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, on the iPhone and Apple Watch you already use, with no account, at $24.99/year. Choose both if you are paying for a premium test and already wear a watch: the scan for structure once or once a year, Nuvo for the other mornings.

Using both together

Prenuvo is the imaging time point and, on Comprehensive or Executive, labs at the start and at six months. Nuvo is the daily HealthKit trend plus any conventional lab PDF it can read. Nuvo does not import an MRI report, a body-composition printout, or a Prenuvo score. If the lab PDF includes HbA1c, glucose, lipids, CRP, or creatinine, that file can sit in the 21-biomarker score. Keep the radiology report with your physician. Habits that move the daily markers are in How to reduce biological age.

The bills stay separate. Prenuvo’s FAQ says health insurance does not cover the scan at this time, and that some members have been reimbursed by their own plan. The terms say Prenuvo does not accept commercial insurance, is not in-network, is not enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, and that the service is cash-pay. HSA or FSA eligibility is decided by the IRS and your administrator, Prenuvo says, not by Prenuvo. Nuvo is the App Store price above. Download app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I pick Nuvo or Prenuvo?
Pick Prenuvo for a clinic MRI snapshot: $2,499 for the Whole Body Scan or $1,199 for the Focused Scan on Prenuvo’s what-we-offer page as of 5 October 2026, with higher Executive prices by city. Pick Nuvo for a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on iPhone and Apple Watch, optional labs, on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day free trial. You can use both. They answer different questions.

Is a Prenuvo scan a biological age test?
No. Prenuvo is MRI, plus blood panels on memberships. Brain-volume and body-composition add-ons are imaging measurements you compare on a later scan. They are not Nuvo’s daily biological age, and Nuvo does not perform an MRI.

What does a Prenuvo scan detect, and what does it miss?
Prenuvo says the Whole Body Scan looks for hundreds of conditions, including solid tumors it describes as early as stage 1, and aneurysms. Its footnote says lesions around one centimeter can be missed, polyps are not detected, and the scan does not replace colonoscopy, mammography, Pap smear, lung CT, or a skin exam, or evaluate the heart and fine lung detail. The Focused Scan also skips aneurysms. Nuvo’s 21 biomarkers are wearable and optional lab inputs, not those imaging findings.

How much do Prenuvo and Nuvo cost?
On 5 October 2026 Prenuvo listed U.S. Focused at $1,199, Whole Body at $2,499, Core at $1,199, Comprehensive at $2,499, and Executive starting at $3,999, with $4,499 in many cities and $4,999 in New York City also printed. A savings note on the same page puts NYC Executive at $4,499 instead. Add-ons were $499 to $799. Nuvo is $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day free trial.

Does the American College of Radiology recommend whole-body MRI screening?
Not for people without symptoms, risk factors, or a relevant family history. The 17 April 2023 statement says evidence is not sufficient, a life-prolonging effect is not documented, and non-specific findings can drive extra tests and cost. Prenuvo’s FAQ also says no evidence-based guideline tells the general population to start. Decide with your clinician.

Can I use Prenuvo and Nuvo together?
Yes. Prenuvo for the imaging snapshot and, on a membership, its labs. Nuvo for the daily 21-biomarker score. Nuvo does not import the MRI report. A standard lab PDF with markers Nuvo reads can be added to the daily score.

Where does my data live?
Prenuvo keeps a medical record and delivers the report in its app. Its FAQ says staff access to identifiable data is limited and logged. Nuvo requires no account. Apple’s privacy label is Data Not Collected. Coaching is on-device, and health data stays on the phone.

Does Nuvo require an account?
No. Nuvo uses on-device AI and no account, with the App Store label Data Not Collected. It uses 21 biomarkers from HealthKit plus optional labs such as HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, and creatinine. Prenuvo requires a booking, a clinic visit, and an app report.

Is this medical advice?
No. This comparison is educational and is not medical advice. Review a Prenuvo report with a qualified clinician. Nuvo’s score is not a diagnosis and does not replace screening your doctor recommends.
