Nuvo vs Welltory: daily biological-age iPhone app compared with an HRV stress and energy app for Apple Watch and Android

Choose Welltory if you want day-to-day stress, energy, and heart-rate variability — including a camera measurement — on iPhone or Android, with daily scores and AI insights from Apple Health and other wearables. Choose Nuvo if you want one daily biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch from 21 biomarkers (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, VO2 max, activity, plus optional blood labs), computed on the phone, with no account, at $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. They answer different questions, and many people who already use Welltory can add Nuvo when they want a single number for whether sleep, training, or a lab result moved biological age.

Written by the Nuvo Longevity editorial team at Firefly Labs LLC, the developer of Nuvo. Welltory details below are taken from Welltory’s homepage, plans page, privacy policy, and consumer health data privacy policy, the US App Store listing (id 1074367771, Welltory: Stress & Heart Rate), and the Google Play listing linked from welltory.com (Welltory: Heart Rate Monitor), checked 6 October 2026. This page is educational and is not medical advice. A wearable HRV score is not a clinical biological-age assay, and Nuvo’s daily score is not a substitute for a clinician.

What each product actually sells

Welltory: HRV, stress, energy, and daily insights

Welltory (Welltory Inc.) is a stress, energy, and heart-rate app. The US listing is Welltory: Stress & Heart Rate (id 1074367771), subtitled “HRV, Sleep, BP & O2 Monitor.” The homepage job, checked 6 October 2026, is to show what is draining energy and to turn measurements into guidance you can act on today. That is a nervous-system and recovery companion. It is not a 21-biomarker daily biological age.

What the homepage, plans page, and App Store listing actually sell:

  • HRV — the homepage calls heart-rate variability a health biomarker and says Welltory compares your measurements with your personal baseline, then shows whether you are recovering or declining.
  • Stress, energy, and productivity scores — the plans page describes Premium heartbeat analytics as those three scores plus “21 metrics.” That phrase is Welltory’s analytics bundle. It is not Nuvo’s 21-biomarker biological age.
  • Camera measurement — the privacy policy says the camera is used for HRV via the phone camera, without saving images unless you explicitly request it. The App Store note is narrower: Welltory measures heart-rate variability and detects heartbeats, and it cannot measure blood pressure or other vital signs via the phone camera or Apple Watch.
  • Sleep, activity, and a Longevity goal — the listing describes sleep analysis, an activity “Mountain,” and a Longevity goal matched to where your body is today. Read in that activity section, the Longevity goal is a movement target, not a biological-age clock.
  • Blood pressure you already have — the listing says Apple Watch cannot measure blood pressure, and Welltory helps you read numbers you sync from a monitor or enter by hand. The plans page adds deeper blood-pressure metrics on Premium.
  • AI insights — version notes and the consumer health policy describe in-app insights, an AI Coach, and an AI support bot (“Megan”). Those features explain today’s data. They do not publish a daily biological age.

The homepage also says Welltory turns “100+ biomarkers” into guidance. That is Welltory’s wording. This page does not treat that slogan as a counted lab panel or as Nuvo’s 21-biomarker score.

Platforms are a real Welltory advantage. The US App Store listing is iPhone and Apple Watch (iOS 16.0 or later on the iTunes lookup the same day). The privacy policy states the app is on iOS and Android. Welltory’s own site links to Google Play, where the listing title is Welltory: Heart Rate Monitor. Nuvo does not ship on Android.

The download is free. Premium is optional. US App Store in-app purchases printed on the listing on 6 October 2026 included Welltory Premium (1 year) $119.99, 1-Year Premium $99.99, Lifetime Premium $299.99, AI health coach for 365 days $99.99, 12mo Heart Rate Health Monitor $79.99, 1mo. Blood Pressure & Stress $12.99, and Pulse & heart rate monitor $12.99. The same day’s plans page listed an annual plan at $99 (shown there as $8.25/month) and a lifetime plan at $599. Those storefronts do not match. Cite the screen you are about to pay on. The plans FAQ describes a 3-day look at detailed HRV insights. The homepage says core features stay outside the paywall.

If the job is “explain my HRV, stress, and energy today, including a camera check, on iPhone or Android,” that is Welltory.

Nuvo: a daily 21-biomarker score

Nuvo Longevity (App Store: Nuvo: Longevity Coach, id 6762535065) is an iPhone and Apple Watch app. It calculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers: Apple Health / HealthKit data — HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, VO2 max, and activity from Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin — plus optional lab PDF upload so conventional results you already paid for (HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine, and more) sit in the same score.

Coaching runs as on-device private AI (Nuvo Intelligence). There is no account. Apple’s privacy nutrition label for Nuvo is Data Not Collected. Health data stays on the phone, is not sent to Nuvo servers, and is not sold. Price is $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day trial — $24.99/year is $2.08/month billed annually. Nuvo is not Android, does not offer a camera HRV spot-check, and does not replace Welltory’s stress and energy scores.

Nuvo is not a stress score, an energy score, or a productivity score. If the job is “one daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, including optional labs, privately, on the phone you already carry,” that is Nuvo. Comparison table

Welltory Nuvo Longevity
What it measures HRV, stress, energy, sleep, activity, and blood pressure you sync or type in. Homepage also frames the product as guidance from a large biomarker set. Camera PPG can capture a heart-rate and HRV reading you start yourself. 21 longevity biomarkers: HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, VO2 max, activity, and optional blood labs (HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine, and more).
Output Daily stress, energy, and (on Premium) productivity scores, an HRV trend against your baseline, sleep analysis, a nervous-system snapshot, an activity Mountain, a Longevity activity goal, and AI insights. Not a daily biological age. One daily biological age, recalculated on the phone so sleep, HRV, fitness, and optional labs can sit in one number.
Data sources Apple Health, and — on Welltory’s consumer health data policy — Google Health Connect, Samsung Health, camera PPG, Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, Fitbit, WHOOP, Withings, and other connections you authorize, plus manual entry. The App Store listing says “1,000+ devices and apps,” including Oura and lab results. HealthKit from Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin, plus an optional lab PDF. No camera measurement and no Android health-connect path.
Labs support The consumer health policy lists biochemical markers such as blood glucose, cholesterol, or HbA1c when a connected platform syncs them. The App Store listing invites lab-test connections into a health diary. Those inputs feed insights. The pages we checked do not describe them as a daily biological age. Optional lab PDF into the same daily 21-biomarker score. Not a lab membership. Does not schedule draws.
On-device processing / privacy US App Store privacy label, 6 October 2026: Data Used to Track You lists Location and Contact Info. Data Not Linked to You lists Health & Fitness, Location, Contact Info, User Content, Identifiers, Usage Data, Sensitive Info, and Diagnostics. The label does not say Data Not Collected. The listing says data is stored in the cloud. The consumer health data policy (last updated 9 July 2026; written for Washington and Nevada) says consumer health data is stored in encrypted Amazon Web Services, that synced or typed data is processed on Welltory’s servers rather than on the phone beyond the initial sync, and that AI features send limited health context to model providers. Welltory’s homepage and that policy both say Welltory does not sell personal health data. On-device private AI (Nuvo Intelligence). Apple privacy label: Data Not Collected. Health data stays on the phone, is not sent to Nuvo servers, and is not sold. See on-device AI and privacy.
Account requirement Yes. The plans FAQ says you can download your data or permanently delete your account. The consumer health policy says withdrawing consent for health-data processing deletes the account. No account.
Platforms iPhone and Apple Watch (iOS 16.0+ on the US lookup). Android via Google Play (Welltory: Heart Rate Monitor), which welltory.com links and the privacy policy names. Camera HRV does not require a watch. iPhone + Apple Watch app. Not Android.
Price Free to download, with optional Premium. US App Store IAPs on 6 October 2026 included Premium (1 year) $119.99, 1-Year Premium $99.99, and Lifetime Premium $299.99, plus narrower products at $79.99 and $12.99. Plans page the same day: annual $99 and lifetime $599. Plans FAQ: 3-day access to detailed HRV insights. Prices disagree by channel — use checkout. $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. No kit and no lab draw is bundled.

HRV scores and biological age are different numbers

HRV is a real signal. The 1996 Task Force report set the measurement language still used for short-term recordings (PubMed 8737210). Shaffer and Ginsberg’s 2017 overview collects the common time-domain and frequency-domain metrics and the norms around them (PubMed 29034226, doi:10.3389/fpubh.2017.00258). Umetani and colleagues showed 24-hour time-domain HRV falling across nine decades of age (PubMed 9502641). A lower HRV than your own baseline can mean a hard day, poor sleep, illness, or aging. It does not, by itself, name a biological age.

Biological age is a different construction. Levine and colleagues’ phenotypic age uses blood chemistry — albumin, creatinine, glucose, C-reactive protein, and related labs — to estimate mortality risk relative to chronological age (PubMed 29676998). What “biological age” means, and why it can diverge from the birthday on your license, is the subject of biological age vs chronological age. Nuvo’s 21 biomarkers put wearable inputs (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, VO2 max, activity) next to optional conventional labs and recalculate daily on the phone. Welltory’s stress and energy scores update from HRV and the rest of the diary. A green energy morning and a Nuvo biological age on the same calendar day are not the same event.

That is why an Apple Watch or Oura owner can feel stuck. The ring or the watch already exports HRV. Welltory is strong at telling you what that HRV is doing today. Nuvo is the app that folds that wearable stream, plus a lab PDF you already have, into one daily age. How an Apple Watch number can move that age is covered in lowering biological age with Apple Watch data. This page only chooses the product.

Can they stack?

Yes. Use Welltory for stress, energy, camera or watch HRV, sleep commentary, and the daily insight stack. Use Nuvo for the 21-biomarker biological age on HealthKit plus any conventional lab PDF you already have. Both can read Apple Health. Welltory’s consumer health policy also names Oura, Garmin, Fitbit, and WHOOP as wearable connections. Nuvo reads Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin through HealthKit only. A lab PDF can sit in Nuvo’s score. It does not become a Welltory stress score, and Nuvo does not ingest Welltory’s energy score as a named input.

If you only want today’s nervous-system readout — or you use Android — stop at Welltory. If you only want the daily biological age on iPhone, stop at Nuvo. If you already pay for Welltory Premium and still want to see whether a week of sleep, a training block, or a lab result showed up in one age number, stack them.

Privacy

Privacy is a real difference, and Welltory’s public documents are specific enough to quote. The US App Store privacy label we opened on 6 October 2026 lists Location and Contact Info under Data Used to Track You, and lists Health & Fitness, Location, Contact Info, User Content, Identifiers, Usage Data, Sensitive Info, and Diagnostics under Data Not Linked to You. There is no Data Not Collected badge on that label. The listing itself says: “We store your data in the cloud.”

The consumer health data policy (last updated 9 July 2026) is scoped to Washington and Nevada residents and is still Welltory’s own description of processing. It says consumer health data is stored in encrypted Amazon Web Services, that data you type or sync is processed on Welltory’s servers and is not processed on the device beyond the initial sync, and that AI Coach and the Megan support bot send limited health context to model providers, who are not permitted to train on it. The same policy says Welltory does not sell consumer health data. The plans FAQ says the service is covered under HIPAA and GDPR requirements, that there are no ads, and that subscription fees are the revenue. The homepage repeats that Welltory does not sell personal health data.

Nuvo is the other architecture. No account. On-device Nuvo Intelligence. Apple’s label is Data Not Collected. Health data is not sent to Nuvo servers and is not sold. If the constraint is “my HRV and my labs never leave this iPhone,” that is Nuvo’s published design. If the constraint is “explain my stress on Android, and I accept a cloud account,” Welltory’s published design matches that job. Architecture notes: health app privacy and on-device AI.

Where Welltory wins

Welltory wins if the job is today’s stress, energy, and HRV. Stress and energy scores, a personal HRV baseline, sleep analysis, a nervous-system snapshot, blood-pressure logging, and a camera measurement you can take without a watch are the product. Nuvo does not claim a camera PPG reading, an Android app, or Welltory’s insight stack.

Welltory also wins on platform reach. iPhone, Apple Watch, and Android are all in Welltory’s own materials. The App Store listing’s “1,000+ devices and apps” claim, and the consumer health policy’s named list (Oura, Garmin, Fitbit, WHOOP, Samsung, Google Health Connect), is a wider inbox than Nuvo’s HealthKit path. If you do not own an iPhone, Nuvo is not an option. Welltory is.

Welltory wins on a free core. The homepage says core features will not sit behind a paywall, and the App Store listing says the app is free to download and use, with Premium as the upgrade. Nuvo’s biological age is the paid product after the 7-day trial. Someone who only wants a basic HRV check can stay on Welltory’s free tier. Someone who wants Nuvo’s daily age is choosing a subscription.

Where Nuvo wins

Nuvo wins on the daily biological-age job. Welltory’s headline outputs are stress, energy, sleep, activity, and AI commentary on HRV. The Longevity goal on the App Store listing sits in the activity section. None of the Welltory pages we checked describe one daily biological age from 21 longevity biomarkers. Nuvo recalculates that age every day so a change in sleep, HRV, VO2 max, or an optional lab can show up in one number.

Nuvo wins on optional labs inside that same score. Welltory can ingest glucose, cholesterol, or HbA1c from a connected platform, per its consumer health policy, and the App Store listing mentions lab-test connections. Those values inform the diary and the insights. Nuvo is the product that places a lab PDF you already paid for into the daily 21-biomarker age. It does not sell the draw.

Nuvo wins on on-device processing and no account. Welltory’s listing and consumer health policy describe cloud storage, server-side insight generation, an account you can delete, and AI context sent to model providers. Nuvo’s label is Data Not Collected, the model runs on the phone, and there is no Nuvo account. That is the difference if the health data itself is the thing you do not want to upload.

Price is only a win if you wanted the age score anyway. Nuvo is $24.99/year (or $4.99/month) after a 7-day trial. Welltory Premium’s public annual figures the same day ran from $99 on the plans page to $99.99 and $119.99 on the US App Store, with two different lifetime prices ($299.99 on the App Store, $599 on the plans page). Welltory can also cost $0 if the free tier is enough. The category difference is stress-and-energy commentary versus a 21-biomarker biological age, not a five-dollar rounding error.

Who wins for which user

Use Welltory if you want Apple Watch, Oura, or camera HRV turned into stress and energy scores, you want Android, or you want a free starting point with optional Premium. Use Nuvo if you want a daily 21-biomarker biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch, privately, at $24.99/year, with optional labs in that score. Use both if you already read Welltory each morning and still want one number for whether the habits you care about — sleep, training, a sauna or cold plunge you log through wearables, a supplement that shows up in a later lab — moved biological age.

If the only job is “an HRV app that explains stress and energy,” stop at Welltory. If the only job is “daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, on the iPhone, with the data staying on the phone,” stop at Nuvo. Download app.

Pricing math without invented discounts

Welltory prices we verified on 6 October 2026, and they conflict, so both belong here. On the US App Store listing: the app is free; in-app purchases included Welltory Premium (1 year) $119.99, 1-Year Premium $99.99, Lifetime Premium $299.99, AI health coach for 365 days $99.99, 12mo Heart Rate Health Monitor $79.99, 1mo. Blood Pressure & Stress $12.99, and Pulse & heart rate monitor $12.99. The listing says Family Sharing does not apply, and that any free-trial portion is forfeited when you buy. On welltory.com/plans: annual $99 billed once a year (the page prints $8.25/month), lifetime $599, and a 3-day trial of detailed HRV insights. Tax and intro offers can differ by Apple ID and by country. Cite checkout.

Nuvo: $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. No mailed sample is bundled.

Those dollars buy different objects. A Welltory Premium year buys a deeper HRV, stress, energy, and blood-pressure commentary on top of a free app that already runs on Android. A Nuvo year buys a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on iPhone, with optional labs and on-device processing. Comparing $99 or $119.99 of Welltory Premium with $24.99 of Nuvo as if they were the same object is a category error. Many people searching “Welltory alternative” already like Welltory’s daily scores. The remaining question is whether they also want one biological-age number. That is the Nuvo add, not a rip-and-replace — unless the thing they actually wanted was the age, in which case Welltory was the wrong category.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nuvo vs Welltory: which should you use?
Use Welltory if you want daily stress, energy, and HRV — including camera measurements — on iPhone or Android, with optional Premium. Use Nuvo if you want one daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on iPhone and Apple Watch, optional lab PDFs in that score, on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. If you already use Welltory on an iPhone, you can stack: Welltory for today’s nervous system, Nuvo for the biological-age trend.

Is Welltory a biological age app?
Not in Nuvo’s sense. Welltory is an HRV, stress, energy, and sleep app with AI insights, a camera measurement, and an activity Longevity goal. The pages checked on 6 October 2026 do not describe a daily biological age from 21 longevity biomarkers. Nuvo’s output is that daily age.

Is Welltory a good alternative if I want one number for biological age?
Welltory is a strong alternative if the number you want is stress, energy, or an HRV trend. It is a weak fit if the number you want is biological age. For that job on iPhone and Apple Watch, Nuvo is the product built around one daily 21-biomarker score. Biological age and chronological age are different ideas; an HRV score does not stand in for either one.

Can I use Nuvo with Welltory, an Apple Watch, or Oura?
Yes on iPhone. Welltory and Nuvo can both read Apple Health. Welltory’s listing and consumer health policy name Apple Watch and Oura as connections. Nuvo reads Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin through HealthKit and can add a lab PDF. Nuvo does not read Welltory’s stress score as an input. Android users can use Welltory; Nuvo is iPhone and Apple Watch only.

How much do Welltory and Nuvo cost?
Welltory is free to download. On 6 October 2026 the US App Store listed Premium at $119.99 for one year and a separate 1-Year Premium at $99.99, plus a Lifetime Premium at $299.99. Welltory’s plans page the same day listed annual at $99 and lifetime at $599, with a 3-day trial of detailed HRV insights. Nuvo is $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. Confirm the Welltory price at checkout; the two storefronts do not agree.

Does Welltory work on Android, and does it measure HRV with the camera?
Yes. The privacy policy says the app is on iOS and Android, and welltory.com links to the Google Play listing Welltory: Heart Rate Monitor. The privacy policy says the camera is used for HRV measurements, without saving images unless you ask. The App Store note says the camera and Apple Watch measure heart-rate variability and heartbeats, not blood pressure.

Does Welltory process health data on the phone?
The US listing says Welltory stores your data in the cloud. The consumer health data policy says synced or manually entered consumer health data is processed on Welltory’s servers and is not processed on the device beyond the initial sync, and that AI features send limited health context to model providers. Nuvo’s biological age and coaching run on the iPhone. Apple’s privacy label for Nuvo is Data Not Collected.

Does Nuvo require an account?
No. Nuvo uses on-device private AI and no account. Health data stays on the phone. Welltory uses an account: its plans FAQ describes downloading your data or permanently deleting the account, and its consumer health policy says withdrawing consent deletes the account.

Is this medical advice?
No. This comparison is educational and is not medical advice. Neither Welltory nor Nuvo replaces care, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed clinician. HRV, stress scores, wearable biological age, and lab results should be reviewed with a qualified professional. Welltory’s own App Store note says the app is not a substitute for medical advice.
