Nuvo vs TruDiagnostic (TruAge): Daily Bio Age App vs Epigenetic Age Test

Pick TruAge for a periodic DNA-methylation biological age kit ($499). Pick Nuvo for a daily 21-biomarker bio age on iPhone, $24.99/yr.

Nuvo vs TruDiagnostic TruAge: daily biological-age iPhone app compared with an at-home epigenetic methylation age kit

Choose TruDiagnostic TruAge if you want a periodic, lab-grade epigenetic biological age from an at-home finger-prick kit — DNA methylation clocks (OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, SYMPHONYAge), not a daily phone score. Choose Nuvo if you want a daily biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch from 21 biomarkers — HealthKit wearables plus optional conventional lab PDF — with on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. TruAge is a methylation lab clock you run every few months. Nuvo is a daily on-device coach on the hardware you already carry. Many people who already bought a TruAge kit still want that daily 21-biomarker number; they can stack.

Written by the Nuvo Longevity editorial team at Firefly Labs LLC, the developer of Nuvo. TruDiagnostic / TruAge details below are taken from TruDiagnostic’s public TruAge and shop pages, report-education copy, privacy policy, and the peer-reviewed papers those pages cite, checked 15 September 2026. One-time kit price is the public $499 list on the shop. Subscribe & Save is listed at $249 on the consumer TruAge page; we do not invent an annual bundle total beyond that public figure. This page is educational and is not medical advice.

What each product actually sells

TruDiagnostic TruAge: an at-home epigenetic age kit

TruAge™ is TruDiagnostic, LLC’s consumer epigenetic biological-age test. The current public product name on TruDiagnostic’s shop and TruAge pages (15 September 2026) is TruAge™ — not a separate “TruAge Complete” SKU in the live comparison table, even though older shop URLs still use the word complete. It is a medical-grade DNA-methylation test from a finger-prick dried-blood sample you mail to a CLIA-certified lab. TruDiagnostic’s shop copy says the assay analyzes 1,000,000+ DNA methylation (CpG) sites.

What the kit reports, per the TruAge shop page and report education (checked 15 September 2026):

  • OMICmAge™ — whole-body biological age from a multi-omic–informed methylation clock developed with Harvard / Mass General Brigham collaborators and published in Nature Aging (Chen, Dwaraka, et al., 2026).
  • DunedinPACE™ — pace of aging (biological years per calendar year), exclusively licensed to TruDiagnostic for commercial use; the research clock is Belsky et al., eLife 2022.
  • SYMPHONYAge™ — epigenetic ages for 11 organ systems (brain, heart, liver, lung, kidney, immune, inflammation, metabolic, hormone, musculoskeletal, blood) plus a composite, commercializing the Systems Age framework (Sehgal et al., Nature Aging 2025).
  • Additional report tiles TruDiagnostic lists on the kit page: telomere length, immune-cell deconvolution, inflammation (epigenetic CRP & IL-6), smoking and alcohol impact, plus methylation risk scores for proteins, metabolites, and clinical biomarkers. TruDiagnostic markets this as 75+ longevity biomarkers estimated from methylation — not a conventional 75-analyte Quest chemistry panel.

Public US pricing we could verify on 15 September 2026: TruAge™ $499 one-time on the shop comparison table. The consumer TruAge page also lists Subscribe & Save $249 next to the $499 one-time price. The shop FAQ says TruDiagnostic offers a 4-test annual subscription at a discount and that many customers retest every 3–6 months. We are not going to invent a yearly total (for example “$998/year”) that those pages do not print as a single number. Adjacent SKUs on the same table: TruHealth™ $499 (105+ markers; TruDiagnostic’s table does not include OMICmAge / SYMPHONYAge / DunedinPACE) and a TruAge + TruHealth bundle $849. HSA/FSA accepted, per the shop FAQ. You create a TruDiagnostic account, activate the kit, and view results in that portal. Public pages put turnaround at about 2–4 weeks after the lab receives the sample.

TruAge is not an iPhone daily coach. It does not read Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin. It is a periodic lab clock.

Nuvo: a daily 21-biomarker score

Nuvo Longevity (App Store: Nuvo: Longevity Coach, id 6762535065) is an iPhone and Apple Watch app. It calculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers: Apple Health / HealthKit data from Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin, plus optional lab PDF upload so conventional results you already paid for (HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine, and more) sit in the same score.

Coaching runs as on-device private AI (Nuvo Intelligence). There is no account. Apple’s privacy nutrition label for Nuvo is Data Not Collected. Price is $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day trial — $24.99/year is $2.08/month billed annually. Nuvo is not Android, does not sell a methylation kit, and does not process DNA.

Nuvo is not OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, SYMPHONYAge, or a 1,000,000-site methylation assay. If the job is “mail a dried-blood card and get a published epigenetic clock plus 11 organ ages,” that is TruAge. If the job is “one daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, including optional labs, privately, on the phone you already carry,” that is Nuvo. Comparison table

TruDiagnostic TruAge Nuvo Longevity
Form factor At-home finger-prick dried-blood kit, mailed to a CLIA lab. Results in a TruDiagnostic account / provider portal. Not a daily iPhone coach. iPhone + Apple Watch app. No kit. $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial.
Inputs DNA methylation at 1,000,000+ CpG sites from a blood-spot sample. Clocks: OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, SYMPHONYAge (11 organ systems). 75+ methylation-derived longevity biomarkers on TruDiagnostic’s kit copy. HealthKit from Apple Watch, Oura, or Garmin, plus optional conventional lab PDF into the same 21-biomarker daily score. Does not sequence methylation.
Frequency / output Periodic snapshot. TruDiagnostic suggests many customers retest every 3–6 months. Turnaround ~2–4 weeks after lab receipt. Output is epigenetic age, pace, and organ-system ages — not a morning wearable score. One daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on iPhone and Apple Watch. Recalculated daily so sleep, HRV, training, and optional labs can sit in one number.
Privacy / account TruDiagnostic account required to register the kit and view results. Privacy policy (effective 12 September 2022) collects Registration Information and Epigenetic Information (methylation biomarkers from your sample). Cloud lab product, not on-device-only. No account. On-device private AI (Nuvo Intelligence). Apple privacy label: Data Not Collected. Data is not sent to Nuvo servers and is not sold. See on-device AI and privacy.
Price model (US public, 15 Sep 2026) TruAge one-time $499 on the shop table. Consumer TruAge page also lists Subscribe & Save $249. Shop FAQ: discounted 4-test annual subscription; we do not invent a yearly total those pages do not print. TruHealth $499 and TruAge+TruHealth $849 are separate SKUs. $4.99/month or $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. No kit and no lab draw is bundled.
Who it’s for Shoppers who want a published methylation clock, organ-system ages, and a pace-of-aging number from a mailed blood spot — and will wait weeks and pay hundreds per kit. People who want one daily 21-biomarker biological age on the iPhone they already own, optional labs they already paid for, no account, at $24.99/year.
App Store ratings TruAge is a kit + web portal, not a daily App Store coach we would treat as a comparable rating corpus. TruDiagnostic’s shop showed 66 kit reviews when we checked; we do not turn that into a schema.org rating. Honestly thin: 5.0 from 4 US ratings (iTunes lookup, 15 September 2026). Do not treat that as a large review corpus.

What the science actually measures

Epigenetic clocks estimate biological age from DNA methylation — chemical tags on DNA that shift with age and lifestyle. Horvath’s 2013 multi-tissue clock established that CpG methylation can track chronological age across tissues. Later clocks were trained on health outcomes, not just birthday. TruAge’s commercial stack sits in that lineage:

Those papers validate methylation clocks against disease and mortality in research cohorts. They do not say a daily iPhone score is the same object. Nuvo’s 21 biomarkers are wearable plus optional blood chemistry — a different measurement family. A TruAge OMICmAge of 41 and a Nuvo daily score of 41 are not interchangeable, even if both are labeled “biological age.”

Can they stack?

Yes, as complementary layers — not as two skins of one clock. TruAge is the quarterly (or 3–6 month) methylation snapshot. Nuvo is the daily trend on HealthKit plus optional conventional labs. Nuvo does not ingest OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, or SYMPHONYAge as named inputs. If you also have a standard lab PDF (Function, Quest, a clinician panel), that PDF can sit in Nuvo’s 21-biomarker score. A TruAge report is still worth reading on its own; it is not a drop-in replacement for those conventional markers inside Nuvo.

Privacy

TruDiagnostic is an account and lab product. To get TruAge results you register a kit. The privacy policy describes collection of Registration Information (name, email, address, payment) and Epigenetic Information generated from your blood sample. TruDiagnostic states it will not release individual-level epigenetic data to third parties without explicit consent unless required by law, and that de-identified or aggregate data may be used in research as described in consent documents. That is a normal design for a CLIA methylation lab. It is not Nuvo’s design.

Nuvo requires no account and uses the Apple privacy label Data Not Collected. Coaching is on-device. If you will not put a methylation profile on a lab account, do not buy TruAge. If you will not put longitudinal wearable and lab data on an app account, Nuvo is the one built for that constraint. Architecture notes: health app privacy and on-device AI.

Where TruAge wins

TruAge wins if the job is a published epigenetic clock from a mailed blood spot. OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, and 11-system SYMPHONYAge are the product TruDiagnostic sells to people who want methylation-grade aging, not a wearable composite. Nuvo does not claim to beat TruAge at CpG coverage, organ-system methylation ages, telomere reporting, or immune-cell deconvolution. If that is the product you came to buy, buy TruAge.

TruAge also wins on depth of a single time point. One kit is a lab snapshot with clocks trained on omics and clinical outcomes. Nuvo’s daily number is a 21-biomarker composite you can actually see every morning. Those are different resolutions. Scale is not close on reviews either. Nuvo’s App Store presence is early: 4 ratings. We are not going to inflate four ratings into social proof, and we do not publish a schema.org rating object for Nuvo.

Where Nuvo wins

Nuvo wins on the daily biological-age job. TruAge updates when you prick, mail, and wait. Nuvo recalculates a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers so sleep, HRV, training, and optional labs can sit in one number without another kit.

Nuvo wins on price if you already own an iPhone (and often an Apple Watch). $24.99/year versus $499 per TruAge kit (or $249 on the public Subscribe & Save line) is not a like-for-like discount — it is a category difference. If you do not want to mail blood, Nuvo does not require it.

Privacy is structural. TruDiagnostic is account/lab (Registration + Epigenetic Information). Nuvo is no account and Data Not Collected. Conventional labs in Nuvo are optional PDFs in the same 21-biomarker score. Those panels do not become TruAge’s methylation clocks, and TruAge does not become Nuvo’s daily clock.

Who wins for which user

Buy TruAge if you want the methylation kit and will retest every few months. Buy Nuvo if you want a daily 21-biomarker biological age on iPhone and Apple Watch, privately, at $24.99/year. Buy both if you already paid for TruAge and still want a daily age number from HealthKit plus any conventional lab PDF you have. They do not cancel each other; one is a periodic epigenetic lab clock, the other is a daily age readout.

If the only job is “epigenetic biological age from a finger-prick kit,” stop at TruAge. If the only job is “daily biological age from 21 biomarkers, privately, on iPhone,” stop at Nuvo. Download app.

Habits that actually move aging markers — sleep, aerobic fitness, glucose, inflammation — are covered in How to reduce biological age. This page is only about which product to buy for which job. Pricing math without invented discounts

TruDiagnostic US public prices (15 September 2026): TruAge $499 one-time on the shop table. Consumer TruAge page: Subscribe & Save $249 beside that $499 line. Shop FAQ: a discounted 4-test annual subscription exists; we will not print a fake yearly total. TruHealth is $499 and is not the OMICmAge kit. The TruAge + TruHealth bundle is $849. Tax, HSA/FSA, and provider-portal clinic pricing can differ — cite the shop page at purchase time.

Nuvo: $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial. No kit and no mailed sample is bundled.

Those dollars buy different things. Say so. Many high-intent shoppers already spent the kit money; the remaining question is whether they also want a daily 21-biomarker biological age. That is the Nuvo add, not a rip-and-replace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I pick Nuvo or TruDiagnostic TruAge?
Pick TruAge if you want a periodic at-home epigenetic kit: DNA methylation clocks (OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, SYMPHONYAge), ~2–4 week lab turnaround, $499 one-time on the public shop table (Subscribe & Save listed at $249 on the TruAge page). Pick Nuvo if you want a daily biological age from 21 biomarkers on iPhone and Apple Watch, optional conventional lab PDF in that same score, on-device AI, no account, and $24.99/year after a 7-day trial. If you already bought TruAge, you can stack: TruAge for the methylation snapshot, Nuvo for the daily 21-biomarker trend.

Does Nuvo measure epigenetic or DNA methylation age like TruAge?
No. TruAge analyzes 1,000,000+ CpG sites from a mailed blood spot and reports OMICmAge, DunedinPACE, and 11-system SYMPHONYAge. Nuvo calculates a daily biological age from 21 wearable and optional blood-chemistry biomarkers on device. Both may be labeled “biological age.” They are not the same clock.

How much do TruAge and Nuvo cost?
TruAge is $499 one-time on TruDiagnostic’s shop table (checked 15 September 2026). The consumer TruAge page lists Subscribe & Save at $249; the shop FAQ mentions a discounted 4-test annual plan without a single printed yearly total we can cite. Nuvo is $4.99/month or $24.99/year ($2.08/month billed annually) after a 7-day trial, with no kit required.

Can Nuvo use my TruAge results?
Not as OMICmAge / DunedinPACE / SYMPHONYAge inputs. Nuvo reads HealthKit and optional conventional lab PDFs (for example HbA1c, glucose, lipids, CRP). A TruAge report is a methylation kit report. Keep it in the TruDiagnostic portal. If you also have a standard blood panel PDF, that PDF can go into Nuvo’s 21-biomarker score. You do not have to pick only one product.

How often should I retest TruAge if I use Nuvo daily?
TruDiagnostic’s shop FAQ says many customers retest every 3–6 months because methylation can move with lifestyle, and that is why they offer a 4-test annual subscription. Nuvo recalculates daily, so it fills the gap between kits. It does not replace a methylation retest if that is the clock you care about.

Does Nuvo require an account?
No. Nuvo uses on-device private AI and no account. Apple’s privacy label is Data Not Collected. TruAge requires a TruDiagnostic account to register the kit and view epigenetic results. Nuvo uses 21 longevity biomarkers (HealthKit plus optional labs such as HbA1c, fasting glucose, HDL, CRP, creatinine); TruAge’s 75+ methylation-derived markers are a different assay.

Is this medical advice?
No. This comparison is educational. Neither TruAge nor Nuvo replaces care, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed clinician. TruDiagnostic positions TruAge as an adjunct longevity tool, not a standalone diagnosis. Lab results, methylation clocks, and wearable scores should be reviewed with a qualified professional.
